Stem to Stern of the Timberskeep
When you go up the oriental carpeted steps from the main cabin to the pilot house you’ll see lots of varnished wood wherever you turn.
The Pilot House (double click the image for an expanded view)
In the pilot house there is a single bed or pilot berth. This becomes a work bench when the cushion is removed. All the opening windows in the pilot house have screens and there are two sliding doors that let you pass to the deck from either side of the pilot house.
The steering station is made of cherry with a traditional mahogany wheel. Two large brass framed windows on the back wall of the pilot house came from a US Coastguard vessel which was sent to sleep at the bottom of Lake Superior some years ago.
By now you will be aware of the curved beams above you, as well as the double bead board planking there and on the side walls. Headroom is exceptional and it glistens with varnish.
The Stateroom, Bath & Engine Room
Down another carpeted stair and you are in the queen bedded stateroom with its own private bath. You’ll see full size comfort in this area. The stateroom is carpeted and includes 7 opening windows plus a 2’ x 2’ opening hatch over the bed. Under the foot of the bed are 8 drawers.
To enter the engine room, lift the stair, open the door and enter a standup area. The engine in the center is flanked by two 150 gallon diesel fuel tanks, and the tank tops are wood covered to provide useful storage and work space.
